Dice Advent Calendar Guide

Let’s jump right into it and answer the question,
What is a dice calendar?

Like most advent calendars, these are meant to count down the days to Christmas through the month of December - beginning on Dec 1st for the 24 day calendars or Dec 12th for the 12 day calendars).

Each day you’ll unbox a single die and by Christmas you will have a full collection of dice based around a theme!

This page will expand on what exactly those guarantees mean so you can have a better idea as to what you will be getting in each box.

Please keep in mind, the following are just examples of dice styles. I have tried to add examples that are similar but not actually included in the calendars, to keep them as much of a surprise as possible.

Set

Standard

A 'standard' set is a 7 pc set made with simple pours that dont require multiple castings.

Set

Ornate

An 'Ornate' set is a 7pc set made with added patterns on blanks before a second casting.

Intricate

An 'Intricate' set is a 7 pc set with a twist! Each set has at least 1 alternate shaped die and the dice have beautiful inset patterns giving each set a unique look

Alternate Shaped

An Alt shaped set has 7-8 pieces featuring all alternate shaped dice of the standard array of 7.

The '8pc Alt shaped set' listings will have additional d2

Small Set

Smaller matching sets. Can include things like

  • 3-5d6 sets
  • Pencil/paper d6/d20
  • D% sets
  • d4 sets

Utility Dice

Dice with a purpose. Utility dice will help you randomize your tabletop games

d20s are listed by size. Anything else is listed by style but will be a standard size of 20 mm

Jumbo - 32mm
Oversized - 25mm
Everything Else - 20mm
(meaning those labeled as - intricate/ornate/standard d20.)

Dice Calendar FAQ

What exactly is a dice calendar?
Like most advent calendars, these are meant to count down the days to Christmas through the month of December. Open one small box each day beginning on Dec 1st for the 24 day calendars or Dec 12th for the 12 day calendars and get a single die. By Christmas you will have a full collection of dice based around a theme!

Are these a preorder?
No. I started working on these in January and have them fully ready to ship the moment an order comes in. 

What happens if the theme I want is sold out? Will you have more?
Because these take so long to put together, I will not be able to make any extras. So when they are gone, there will be no more available this year. 

How do you choose the themes and dice in each?
The dice in each box are not just throw aways or leftovers. These collections are carefully crafted around each theme. I've been making dice for 5 years now and have a lot of different styles and shapes. I've done my best to choose a theme and stick with it while putting together each set. 

Why are the prices different?
Each box is priced based on the dice that are included. So boxes with more intricate dice or more alternate shapes will be more expensive than those with more basic pours. 

 

As a last note from me if you've made it this far: 
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your interest in my dice advent calendars! These are such an unbelievably huge undertaking each year. I am just one person making dice in my basement. I have to start in January and work on them every month alongside my normal restocks. I also make and decorate the boxes all myself, including the graphic design for each theme. 

Add to that, I cant show them off or talk about them until well into the year. (which is hard because I'm an oversharer haha!) But this is the time of year is when everything finally starts coming together and the enthusiasm from everyone always makes it worth the effort. Thank you again and I appreciate you all so much
